is the grave that is the subject of the Killingworth Bequest, detailed
on a plaque inside St Mary the Virgin, to ensure its annual maintenance.
The inscriptions read thus:
Here
lieth the body of
William Killingworth
who died March 14th 1767
Aged 56 years.
Here
lieth the body of Grace,
the wife of William Killingworth
She died April 27th 1740
aged 32 years.
