A close-up
look at Barton Abbey. Steeple Barton is one of three villages which
together are known as the Bartons. The other two are Westcott Barton
and Middle Barton and they are very close together, with Steeple Barton
quite separate from them.
From
Saxon times Steeple Barton supplied the royal manor at Woodstock with
food and, later, Osney Abbey.
