Barton
is a common name, usually meaning
barley farm, or outlying grange where corn is stored.
To
travel by road to Steeple Barton, exit the M40 at Junction 10 and
turn on to the B430 through Ardley, and on to Middleton Stoney.
At Middleton Stoney turn right on to the B4030 and continue straight
on until you reach the traffic lights at Hopcrofts Holt. Go straight
across, still on the B4030, and within a mile look for a signpost
on your left for the road to Steeple Barton. Or you can continue
on the B4030 to Middle Barton and turn left there for Steeple Barton.
