Kirtlington
= an estate associated with a man called Cyrtla.
Around 1000 it was known as Kyrtlingtune, and by 1086 as Certelintone.

To
travel to Kirtlington by road, use the M40. At Junction 9 (one hour
north of London approx, one hour south of Birmingham approx), turn
onto the A34 towards Oxford. Exit the A34 at Islip/Bletchingdon,
and turn right on to the B4027 to Bletchingdon. Continue straight
through Bletchingdon, and turn right where you see a signpost for
Kirtlington shortly afterwards.
