Riverhead means landing-place for cattle. In 1278 Riverhead was known as Reddride.

To travel by road to Riverhead, use the M25 around London and exit at Junction 5 where it intersects with the M26, turning east on to the A25 in the Sevenoaks direction, travelling one mile before reaching Riverhead. There are many alternative routes to Riverhead in this area, depending on which direction you are travelling from, as Riverhead is located just to the north of Sevenoaks at the intersections of the A25 east-west, and A224 north and A225 south.
